Diana Beresford-Kroeger is a world recognized author, medical biochemist and botanist, also a consultant scientist to the Woodland League. She has a unique combination of western scientific knowledge and the traditional concepts of the ancient world. Orphaned in Ireland in her youth, Beresford-Kroeger was educated by elders who instructed her in the Brehon knowledge of plants and nature.

Based in Kilbarry, County Cork, Ted has dedicated decades to the preservation and restoration of Ireland’s native woodlands. He is renowned for his deep knowledge of native trees, hedgerows, and traditional land practices, often sharing his insights through guided forest walks, educational talks, and community events.
One of Ted’s notable contributions includes his involvement in the “Jurassic Bark” project, an international initiative aimed at propagating the DNA of Ireland’s ancient trees. Through this project, Ted has worked to reintroduce genetically significant native tree species, such as sessile oaks, back into the Irish landscape.
Ted’s commitment to environmental education and conservation continues to inspire communities across Ireland to reconnect with their natural heritage and participate in the stewardship of native woodlands.
